Sounds like Portuguese, but I could be wrong. I did a quick run through of MIA songs but didn't hear anything similar, and she's the only brazillian musician I know of.

Actually I'm interested in any brazilian music in this style. I heard a lot of it while I was in brazil but the only brazilian music I can find in stores is samba type music.
 
that style of music is called brazilian funk, baile funk or favela funk. don't know anything about that song though. i was just in brazil as well and i often heard funk there but i heard fergie more... and MIA isn't a brazilian artist. she just worked with people who used the funk sound, specifically a dj named diplo.
