So this (fairly new) gadget came out from Nike and Apple.

It's this chip that you put in your running shoe and it syncs up with you ipod nano to give you your stats as you run like how many calories you've burned, how many miles you've run yadda yadda yadda (check out the link if you're still confused or want to know more) but I want to ask anybody out there who already has it what they think of it and whether it's worth buying. Even if you don't have it what have you heard about it. I'm curious to hear everybody's opinion.

Depends on the price. I guess. They didn't mention that anywhere. Monitoring distances and heart rates on a daily basis doesn't seem to be a compelling application unless you are a professional athlete. I try to run atleast 2-4 times a week. Many times that number is zero. That number depends on whether I can get home before 8 pm after work, or do I have a 8.00 am meeting in the morning. I don't sit and think "I'd run my ass off now, if only i could measure the distance.." So when Nike introduces a consumer product like this, It looks like those knives they sell on TV. If I'm ever in the kitchen tryng to cut a ceramic tile, you'll be the first person I call...

Yeah man me too. I try with my ass planted on the couch and a Twinkie hanging out my mouth. I don't go very fast but I still TRY.
