Ah, I heard a song on the current Nissan Xterra ad that I saw while watching the opening ceremony of the Olympics (Feb/10/06).

Sounds a bit like the John Butler Trio- similar voice, maybe.

It also sounds like a cover of an old song...
very sort of Zepplin-esque. Heavy, old school guitar.

The only lyrics I remember are something about "your fool"
and "... set you free."

I know that's really vague, but it was love at first listen...

Thanks!

Well, I guess I answered my own question...

I've just seen the ad again (while watching the Olympics...again)
and heard a few more lyrics.

I searched for them in Yahoo, and the song is "Set You Free" by
The Black Keys.

I hope this is helpful if anyone else has seen the commercial.

ok, sorry I can't give more info, but the song I am wondering about is in a current car commercial (no clue for shich. sorry!). It is a male singer, and the lyrics are "....playing you for the fool."
I know that is almost nothing to go on, but this is driving me nuts!!!!

I have been looking for this all day!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The singer sort of sounds like Jimi Hendirx. How come I can't name the car either???? More of the lyrics "come to me"? I heard it during an episode of Desperate Housewives - and I have tried looking for ABC advertisers and all different ways to look for this.

The ad is for the Nissan Xterra ... the extreme helicopter snowboarding one ...

The song you're looking for ...

The Black Keys - "Set You Free"

Enjoy!
There you go.

DJ,
You are so freaking awesome. I have been driving myself and everyone I know CRAZY over this. Thanks so much.
