A Gannett-owned daily newspaper in New York is preparing a report on original music -- and
some pre-recorded tunes by little-known recording artists -- used in television commercials.

Last year, the theme created for the Lowe's home improvement chain generated enough interest for the company to commission a longer version of the song for a CD release. Since then, some people have used the song in their weddings.

If you have stories about how this or other pieces of music in commercials have caught your fancy and/or affected your life, we'd like to hear from you. We are particularly interested in hearing from those of you who may live in the mid-Hudson Valley, particularly in Dutchess or Ulster counties.
