Our local news had an in-studio performance by the group Bond, and they played their song Explosive. (Sample here: http://www.amazon.com/o/ASIN/B0001ZDKAQ/ad...s-20/ref=nosim/ )
I KNOW I've heard this song somewhere before but I can't figure out where! I'm not sure if it was a tv commercial, a movie, or what. I keep picturing the fast section of the music with various images zipping by, maybe for an amusement park or something? The music does sound a bit like "riverdance-type" music so maybe I'm thinking of a Busch Gardens ad with something similar in it? Am I crazy?

They advertised some type of watch or jewelry or something. There also was a heavily played promo for one of their albums.

It wasn't the watch commercial... I found that info somewhere else and watched the ad and it's a different song. Maybe I did see a promo for the album or the DVD or something.

OK I'm gonna try to untie this knot in this thread:

1.
Bond's song entitled "Allegretto" from their album "Shine" is their version of "Palladio". See track one on:

http://www.amazon.com/o/ASIN/B0000029OP/ad...s-20/ref=nosim/

This is also the melody used in the Zales Jewelers ads.

2.
Bond's song entitled "Victory" from their album "Born" is their version of "The Barber Of Seville: Sinfonia'". See disc 1, track 1 at:

http://www.amazon.com/o/ASIN/B00000I932/ad...s-20/ref=nosim/

Bond did an ad for Omega watches a few years back, featuring a video of them playing the song.

That music was also used in a very famous Bugs Bunny cartoon (remember the one where Bugs plays the barber and Elmer Fudd plays the customer as Bugs tortures Fudd with very rough treatment in the barber chair?)

3.
Bond?s ?Explosive? is featured in an auto commercial (I think it was either Acura, BMW or Mercedes -- some foreign car maker in any event). The commercial simply features ariel and exterior shots of this car racing along some desolate coastal roadway possibly with some less than memorable voice-over. Some of the Bond fan sites might be able to name the right auto maker. Try this site or links off of it or try e-mailing Bond fans here:

Bond sites are hard to find on the internet because they?re buried in a haystack of financial sites and James Bond sites

I just saw Bond play at House of Blues in Anaheim last week and met a few dozen hardcore Bond fans who were just fountainheads of knowledge on this stuff.

Bond's "Explosive" lifts the hook from Andreas Johnson's "Glorious," which has been used on commercials and HBO promos.

Not sure about everywhere else but down here in Oz, "Explosive" was used a lot during ads for the last Olympics....
