In the late 70's about 78-80 Ford had run commercials about their new EXP (remember small 2-seater) during the commercial was a piece of music that sounded totally synthesised. It was this piece of music that got me interested in Gary Numan (this type of Music) but I had never found out what the music was from the EXP commercial. Can anyone help?

Well, as you may have guessed, older commercials, unless they are really well known, are difficult to pin down music-wise.

One thing to keep in mind: Popular (or "licensed") music in tv commercials was uncommon until the 1990s. (It didn't really take off until Nike used The Beatles "Revolution".)

So it was probably an original composition used in that Ford ad. But that's just a wild guess on my part. I assume it was an all-synth piece of music - no vocals? (Which would be easy to create specifically for the ad rather than licensing Gary Numan or whomever.)
