This is an oldie. And unfortunately vague.
I remember a Nissan or Mazda (or Mitsubishi?) TV ad from 2005/2006 that featured a semi-industrial electronic, instrumental song that had a driving bassline and incorporated mechanical sounds (like pistons or hydraulics). It was from a solo male artist (similar to Moby?) I had never heard from before (or since) but the song is still used quite frequently today, often as a intro music for sporting events. At the time, the song even had its own music video, which I vaguely recall had a spy/action theme with explosions.
Anybody else have a clue on what this song was?
