HBO series promo music 2004-2006

Hope someone can help me out with this because it's been driving me nuts. It's a song I heard in an hbo series promo. At the time the big shows were Deadwood, Curb, Sopranos, Entourage, and Six Feet Under was maybe wrapping up. Anyhow they used a song that sounded somewhat like Switchfoot Stars but that clearly wasn't it.
I wish I had a piece of the lyrics. This was definitely a series only promo.
Anyone know of the primary songs hbo was using to promotes series around this time? Any help GREATLY appreciated!
