 Spice Girls in the Citi
No, we haven't time warped back to 1996. That is definitely the Spice Girls' mega-hit "Wannabe" (iTunes) playing in the current "Live Richly" TV ad for Citi credit cards. While waiting to earn enough reward points for an iPod, a woman makes her husband follow her around in the car blasting music while she goes for a morning jog. Coincidence or not, the placement of the Spice Girl's song can only prepare us for the coming hype surrounding their rumored 10th anniversary reunion tour next year.

 JP Morgan Chases Life
Five for Fighting's melodic piano hit "100 Years" (iTunes) creates a perfect background to the current JP Morgan Chase credit cards television ad. The ad entitled "Life" follows an aging young man as he graduates from college, works at his first job, meets and marries his wife, has children and eventually grandchildren.

 A Beautiful Life for Fisher
The band Fisher knew they had a hit on their hands when keyboardist Ron Wasserman wrote "Beautiful Life" in response to an ad music request from HUM Music, a music production agency. Fisher lead vocalist Kathy Fisher told Adtunes.com, Hum was "looking for a song for the new Toyota branding campaign that had a 'band feel.' HUM reached out to singers that they'd worked with who had bands on the side and let us all take a stab at it!"

"I just love when an outside influence comes in and forces you to stretch beyond your comfort zone as an artist."

The short song demo not only resulted as a perfect match for the "rolling tire" ad for Toyota's "Moving Forward" TV campaign, but also for Fisher's newest CD "The Lovely Years" (iTunes).

"I knew it was just the right combination of positive and quirky that we were looking for for our new cd, so we immediately created a full-length version," Ms. Fisher said.

This isn't the first time the MP3.com phenoms' soothing melodies have been heard on TV: Fisher's sound was also featured in ads for Nike, Hyundai, Hallmark and PT Cruiser (the song "L.O.V.E.") and in the movie "Great Expectations," with the song "Breakable" (iTunes). Having their music featured in national campaigns and movies, Fisher commented, "It's one of the greatest ways in the world to reach out to more people than you ever could on a grueling tour in a van!"
