 Mercedes-Benz Pictures
Three new ads from Mercedes-Benz hope to show the " enduring relationship" between the company and its customers. Two ads focus on photographs of the owners posing with their cars while the third ad shows the loyality between owner and vehicle.
"Multiple Portraits" features the song " Reve" by DJ Cassius and closes with the tag line "No one ever poses with their toaster."
"Framed Portraits" is set to an acoustic guitar with a female crooning "Your picture is on my wall" and ends with the tag line "The Love Never Fades." The song is called "Amazed" (performed by Mozella) and was created specifically for the ad.
The third and most dramatic ad, entitled "Faithful," showcases owners as their various accomplishments are mentioned on screen. A powerful orchestral tune is heard during the ad and was created by Martin Hewer with the production agency Amber Music for the ad. (All info via the Adtunes.com Forums.)

 The Terminal
Trailers for the upcoming Steven Spielberg movie
THE TERMINAL (starring Tom Hanks and Catherine Zeta-Jones), end with the song "Leaving on a Jet Plane." Written and performed by John Denver and made popular by the folk trio Peter, Paul and Mary, the song is about Denver leaving his wife to go on tour. The cover version heard in THE TERMINAL trailer is by Chantal Kreviazuk and appeared on the soundtrack for the film ARMAGEDDON. If you watched A&E original series AIRLINE, you'll recognize the tune as the show's theme song. That version was covered by Jimmy Coup specifically for the show.

 Spider-Man 2 Trailer Music
This week, the highly anticpated extended Spider-Man 2 trailer premiered during NBC's The Apprentice. Sporting more music tracks than Doc Ock has tentacles, the ad is a good example of the different kinds of sources used for trailer music - none of which being the original Spider-Man soundtrack. For Spiderman 2, the trailer music includes pieces of Adam Freeland's " Burn the Clock", Celldweller's " Switchback", clips from The Last Samurai (the track "Ronin") and Plunkett & Macleane (the track "Hanging") soundtracks, and an original music cue from the production music service Immediate Music.

 Beauty and the Beast
The Internet is abuzz about the new Victoria's Secret TV commercial featuring Bob Dylan. The aging rocker is featured in the new "Angels in Venice" clip along with his song " Love Sick" off the album Time Out of Mind. The ad seems a bit strange with ghost-like images of Dylan, but who among us would look good next to angel-winged supermodel Adriana Lima? Others have reacted negatively to his ad appearance with the tired mantra of "Sell-Out!", but the fact remains, artists like Dylan aren't getting airplay on MTV or radio. TV Commercials can allow music to reach new audiences, just ask artists like Sting.

 It's Playtime at Six Flags!
Sometimes commericals just stay with you, and not always because you want them to do so. One such ad might be the latest TV commercial from Six Flags Theme Parks called "It's Playtime!". The ad features an unusual looking old man (decked in a black tuxedo and red bow-tie) stepping off a tour bus. He then transforms into a dancing fool to the stylings of the Europop hit " We Like to Party" by the Vengaboys. The combo of the catchy tune and the strange dancing old man creates one of those "I don't know if I like this, yet I can't look away" type of reactions.
