American Eagle Outfitters Holiday
American Eagle Outfitters new "Holidays" TV ad celebrates with a typical family holiday gathering. (That is, if your family consists entirely of attractive, well-dressed twenty-something fashion models.) The ad is shot with an animated still-snapshots effect moving from scene to scene by entering and exiting picture frames. We see the "family" gathered around the dinner table, hugging one another and snow falling outside through the windows. The song featured is "
All Dressed Up In Dreams" by the 6ths, off the album "
Wasps' Nest."
The 6ths is just one of many side projects by writer/producer Stephin Merritt, more notably well-known for his work with
The Magnetic Fields, who typically recruits other singers to contribute to the vocals on his albums. For instance, the vocalist singing on "All Dressed Up In Dreams" is
Helium frontwoman Mary Timony. Merritt's latest release is the
soundtrack to the film
